Inputs Are Everything | #006

Bring in the Best

Looking at your past, you can see the changes you made.

Each new choice will alter your trajectory.

Each experience changes the way you interface with the world.

Nothing may be as large in shaping you as the inputs that you choose to let into your body and mind.

Common Inputs:

  • Food

  • Media

  • Books

  • People

These are what shape your subconscious mind.

They are the things you will be programmed to think, act on, and believe is morally acceptable.

The things that make you, you.

Everyone takes in some content throughout the day.

So we should take inputs in with responsibility and intention.

Not letting in any random thought on social media, local news program, or negative person.

Try to limit the quality of bad inputs, and lean into good ones.

  • The people that give you sanity

  • The content that gives you courage

  • The hobbies that grow you as an individual

  • The books you resonate with and learn from

Do this and the content that is flooding your subconscious mind is positive content. The energy and aura of your presence will be positive.

This makes the world a better place.

Happiness revolves around the quality of your inputs.

And people reach for low-quality inputs when feeling down.

A bit of a chicken or the egg.

Which came first:

  • Depression → poor inputs

  • Poor inputs → depression

This is something to be wary of.

When you are in the best frame of mind, and the highest version of your self you are making sound decisions.

ie. bringing in good inputs

However, when things are less pretty decision-making suffers.

ie. bringing in bad inputs

To solve this problem we need to:

  1. Increase the time we act from a higher state of being

  2. Decrease the likelihood of allowing poor inputs in when we are more susceptible to them

A strategy is to:

  • Outline the perfect day

  • Brainstorm common “bad inputs”

  • Name behaviors to switch to when the urge for a bad input arises (activities such as walking, reading, or exercise)

  • Put healthy behaviors (good inputs) into your everyday life

Outlining your ideal day makes you aware of the inputs that bring you joy.

Brainstorming “bad inputs” makes you aware of the things that you are likely to slip up on.

Naming behaviors to get your mind off urges gives you the power and the potential for a different reality.

Putting healthy behaviors into your day is the easiest way to increase the time in a high state of being.

It will then be commonplace to do something healthy.

You can identify when you are about to do something harmful.

Then switch to a better behavior.

Make your inputs beneficial.

Make your finite time beneficial to yourself and those around you.

We can transcend, together!

Have a great weekend!
