- Long Walks = Deep Thoughts
Long Walks = Deep Thoughts
A little tip for some big progress.

Walks started out as a way for me to “get my steps in”.
This worked for me and made me stick to the habit.
Easy cardio
Not sitting
Get outside
Improved metabolism
These are some of the benefits at face value.
I was able to use them to get in more than 10k steps a day and be active.
Little did I know the great power walks could have if I were to utilize them to their full potential.
Gradually, I started walking without checking my phone or listening to music as a way to practice mindfulness.
What I noticed was how thoughts would come up I didn’t even know existed.
What I said to this person
How this person made me feel
What I was gonna do after the walk
Plans for dinner
At first, the thoughts seemed daunting.
All of these newfound things sprung up.
The great realization came when I found the ability to detach from the thoughts.
The idea is that thoughts come and go, but you are not your thoughts.
With this new strategy, I could choose only to engage in thoughts giving me value.
The real power resides in using this as a tool to solve problems:
Stressing something
Looking for inspiration
Can’t make a decision
In these circumstances try a long walk.
Leave the phone behind.
I wanted to make a newsletter but didn’t know the topic.
This sprung to me on a walk at night.
Anyways hope this helped.
Here’s a quote:
“All truly great thoughts are conceived while walking.”
-Nietzsche
